On 23 September 2023, the project consortium presented TEACHER at a state-of-the-art hybrid symposium at the National Congress for the Italian Society of Paediatric Surgeons in Naples, Italy.

The event, accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, attracted 62 local participants who attended in person and 84 online participants, including medical professionals from the consortium countries and beyond. The diverse audience included junior and senior paediatric surgeons, medical residents, specialists, and students.

Divided into chapters corresponding to the project's course, the symposium covered various surgical techniques and specific expertise. Each subtopic was presented by one of the four expertise centers, providing a deep dive into the intricacies of the field. Live surgery videos and sneak previews of course materials were showcased, offering a glimpse into the innovative content developed by the project.

Other highlights included the introduction of the competency profile, outlining the foundational knowledge expected from participants. The symposium concluded with participants eagerly signing up for the pilot course, indicating a strong interest in furthering their education and skills.

The outcomes of the ME exceeded expectations, with significant achievements noted:

• Dissemination of TEACHER: The project's impact reached a wider EU network and global audience.
• International Participation: The event attracted 84 online participants from 24 countries, including the Czech Republic, USA, Egypt, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and Australia.
• Pilot Course Sign-ups: Over 100 participants expressed interest in the upcoming pilot course.
• Positive Reception: Despite technical difficulties, the ME was well-received, highlighting the resilience and adaptability of the project team.

Innovative elements, such as surgical videos and learner engagement, were highlighted, demonstrating the project's commitment to delivering cutting-edge content. Participants also shared how the event would influence their future practices, ranging from adapting techniques to their populations to exploring new research avenues.

The success of this hybrid symposium underscores the resilience and adaptability of the project team in overcoming challenges and delivering valuable educational content to a global audience. As the project continues to make strides in paediatric surgical education, the momentum generated by this event positions it as a leading force in advancing medical knowledge and practices in EA and Tracheal Malformations.
